According to the latest survey by TrendForce, the overall value of server shipments in 2024 is estimated to reach $306 billion, with AI servers showing stronger growth than general servers, contributing approximately $205 billion. As demand for AI servers continues to grow in 2025, with a higher average selling price (ASP) contribution, the value is expected to rise to nearly $298 billion, further increasing the share of AI servers in total server revenue to over 70%.

The demand for servers equipped with the Hopper series has been growing among Chinese and U.S. CSPs and server OEM clients, driving a 46% year-on-year increase in AI server shipments in 2024. Looking ahead to 2025, TrendForce forecasts that the shipment volume of AI servers will grow by nearly 28%, with their share of total server shipments rising to over 15%.

Regarding the performance of major AI chip suppliers, it is expected that NVIDIA’s Blackwell new platform will become the mainstream high-end GPU in 2025. However, the GB Rack series, due to complex design verification, will take more time to prepare the supply chain. Additionally, due to fewer working days in the first quarter due to seasonal factors, shipments are expected to significantly increase after the second quarter. Furthermore, NVIDIA is expected to release the B300 and GB300 series in the third quarter of 2025, which will further drive the shipment momentum for products like the Blackwell-powered HGX and GB Rack.

In addition to NVIDIA, large CSPs are also increasingly focusing on self-developed ASICs. In 2024, Google remains the major supplier, but AWS shows stronger growth, with a year-on-year increase exceeding 200%. In 2025, AWS shipments are expected to grow by more than 70%, with a stronger focus on the Trainium chip development, supporting AWS’s public cloud infrastructure and e-commerce platform AI applications.
