Intel recently provided a roadmap to Japanese media, confirming that the new generation of discrete graphics cards will arrive in 2024.

Intel’s second-generation discrete graphics architecture, codenamed Battlemage, was initially planned for release between 2023-2024. However, with only a few days left in 2023, it’s not happening.

Raja Koduri hinted during his time at Intel that the new generation of graphics cards would have to wait until next year, most likely in the first half.

In 2023, Intel Arc’s vivid display cards only released the desktop version A580 and the professional version Pro A60/A60M. More efforts were focused on driver optimization, significantly enhancing performance, which outweighs the urgency of releasing the second generation.

According to leaked information, the Battlemage architecture will target the high-performance and enthusiast gaming market, including improved microarchitecture, enhanced ray tracing performance, upgrades to the next-generation memory subsystem and memory compression technology, upgrades to the next-generation machine learning rendering technology, and strengthened Deep Link collaboration functionality.

The core will have at least two versions, BCM-G10 and BCM-G21, targeting power consumption ranges of 225W and 150W, respectively.

There are expectations of an upgrade to the TSMC N4 4nm manufacturing process, with the possibility of reaching up to 56 cores, nearly double that of the previous generation.
