Recently, many friends may be paying attention to the unreleased models in the Intel 14th Gen Core series, especially the mainstream and mid-range models, such as Core i5-14400 and Core i5-14100.
In addition, besides these, the 14th Gen Core series has a product line more worthy of attention, which is the mobile product line for laptops. Because many friends need to travel frequently and find it inconvenient to use a desktop computer, laptops with the 14th Gen Core processor are the best choice for this user group.
Currently, it is known that the performance improvement of the desktop version of the 14th Gen Core processor is small compared to the previous generation. So, is there a possibility of a slightly larger performance improvement in the 14th Gen Core mobile product line compared to the previous generation? Is there a surprise to look forward to?
Recently, the Geekbench 5 score of Core i5-14450HX has been exposed, providing a preliminary answer to this question, and giving us a glimpse of what to expect.
Currently, detailed specifications for the Core i5-14450HX processor have not been exposed. The following parameter data may not be entirely accurate and is for reference only:
The Core i5-14450HX is built on a 10-nanometer process, with 6 large cores and 4 small cores, totaling 10 cores and 16 threads. The maximum operating frequency is 4.8GHz (compared to the previous generation Core i5-13450HX at 4.6GHz), with a smart cache of 20MB.
In Geekbench 5 platform testing, the Core i5-14450HX scored 1776 points in single-core performance and 11026 points in multi-core performance (refer to Figure 2). So, how does this performance score compare? What level does it belong to?
For reference comparison, the desktop-level Core i5-13400 scored 1792 points in single-core performance and 11912 points in multi-core performance. Overall, the single-core and multi-core performance of the Core i5-14450HX is very close to that of the Core i5-13400, and the performance of the two processors is roughly on par.
Some friends may still be very eager to see more detailed performance tests of the Core i5-14450HX, including productivity and gaming performance tests, as well as performance score comparisons with the previous generation Core i5-13450HX. However, I’m sorry to inform you that we are still in the early stages of leaks, and there is currently no content available for sharing in this regard. Please be patient and wait for further updates.
It is now known that Intel will release more desktop models of the 14th Gen Core processors during the CES event in January 2024. As for the release date of the 14th Gen Core mobile product line, there is currently no definite information. However, it might be announced during the January 2024 CES event.
Based on the leaks known so far, the performance of the Core i5-14450HX seems promising and worth looking forward to. I will share the latest leaks and updates regarding the 14th Gen Core mobile product line as soon as possible, so stay tuned.
