The new generation of AMD’s Zen5 architecture Ryzen is getting closer and has already appeared in some shipping lists, including desktop and mobile versions with some codenames, core numbers, and thermal design power (TDP).
Zen5 Ryzen is undergoing transport testing at different locations.
The desktop version, codenamed “Granite Ridge,” has two versions: one is the A0 stepping, 6-core, 105W, and the other is the B0 stepping, 8-core, 170W.
Rumors suggest that the Zen5 desktop version will continue to use the Chiplet design and the AM5 Phoenix interface, still up to 16 cores. The GPU part might continue with two RDNA2 units, with a TDP range of 65-170W, which is a significant increase from the current.
There is an expectation of official news at the Taipei Computer Expo at the end of May, but the actual product launch and market availability might have to wait until the third or fourth quarter.
The mobile version has two series:
One is the mainstream series codenamed “Strix Point,” featuring one Ryzen 9 and one Ryzen 7, with an unspecified number of cores, both B0 stepping, and 28W TDP.
This series will debut first, almost certainly at the Taipei Computer Expo, with up to 12 cores (8 Zen5 plus 4 Zen5c), up to 16 units of RDNA3+ GPU, and a second-generation XDNA2 architecture NPU, with a TDP range of 28-45W.
The second is the high-end series codenamed “Fire Range,” featuring one 16-core Ryzen 9 and one 8-core Ryzen 7, both B0 stepping, 55W TDP.

This series will be released at the beginning of next year’s CES 205, which is essentially the desktop version of Granite Ridge ported to mobile, similar to the current Ryzen 7000HX series, with a TDP range of 55-75W.
