Over the past month or two, the editor has shared several times with everyone that the mid-to-high-end models of Intel’s 13th and 14th generation Core processors, including the Core i9-14900KS, are unstable when running games, which may lead to crashes.

The most typical and common situation is game crashes, reporting a “memory insufficient” error. This error message is very nonsensical and tricky, easily misleading users into thinking that it is really due to “insufficient memory” or an issue with Nvidia graphics cards. However, that is not the case, even if users are using the GeForce RTX 4090, they will encounter this problem.

In response, Nvidia and some game developers have already officially responded, emphasizing that the game crashes are not due to the graphics card or the game itself but are caused by Intel processors. The temporary workaround provided is to ask users to manually limit and reduce the performance of Intel’s mid-to-high-end processors, which can alleviate and avoid this issue to some extent.

It’s embarrassing for Intel processors, as there used to be some friends who criticized AMD processors for their power consumption and temperature control. Now, AMD processors have seen significant improvements in these aspects, and the gap between the two in this regard has become very small.

Moreover, there has been a long-standing belief in the market: that Intel processors have a major advantage over AMD processors in terms of better compatibility and “more stability.” However, this is not always the case now, which is hard for many Intel fans to accept and quite embarrassing.

Regarding this issue, Intel’s attitude has been very low-key, and they have not yet responded. Below, the editor will share the latest developments on this matter.

The latest development is that another new game crashed because of this issue, which is the demo version of “Tekken 8.” Installing and launching the game had no problems, but it would crash during gameplay, again indicating “memory insufficient.” There are already a lot of users complaining about this issue, as seen in the above image.

Currently, there are many cases where using Intel’s 13th and 14th generation Core processors’ mid-to-high-end models may lead to game instability and crashes, with a lot of complaints from users in the United States, Europe, and Korea, and some users have requested processor replacements.

In Korea, there are currently three companies responsible for selling Intel PC processors and providing after-sales support services. One company executive, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed, “Recently, the number of users coming to the after-sales service center to request replacements for the 13th and 14th generation Core processors has increased to more than ten per day.” Please refer to the above image.
