Everyone might already be familiar with firmware updates for AirPods. But, did you know that the Apple Magic Mouse also receives firmware updates? Recently, Apple released new firmware for the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad. However, it might only apply to the latest product models…
It is reported that Apple has released new firmware for the Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad this week, version 3.1.1. However, for users, updating these accessories is quite difficult, even impossible.
You should know that Apple’s macOS system has a mechanism for updating Apple accessory products. However, over the years, many users have noticed that their devices remain on the factory firmware version. For instance, my own Magic Mouse 2, purchased in 2021, is still running firmware version 1.9.2. In other words, the new firmware will likely only be available with new mice, and existing users will not be able to get the update.

Additionally, this firmware update did not disclose any specific new features. It is likely just to fix some bugs and improve the stability of the accessories. So, here is a final reminder for Apple fans: only buy new Apple mice, not old ones.
