Recent news: In a recent interview with tech media The Verge, Logitech’s new CEO Hanneke Faber revealed that the company is considering launching a “perpetual mouse” where users would subscribe to receive paid software updates and other benefits.

Faber stated that users would only need to purchase one high-end mouse without worrying about future usage issues, similar to current video conferencing services.

When asked further, Faber said, “This mouse will have very luxurious specifications, think of it as a mouse studded with diamonds.”

Faber clarified that consumers use mice and keyboards daily, but the average selling price for these peripherals is low, approximately $26 (about 188 RMB). She believes, “This is equivalent to the price of four cups of Starbucks coffee, or even lower than the price of a Nike running shirt. As we improve people’s work efficiency and expand human potential, there is still a lot of room to create more value in this area.”
