A few days ago, I informed you of a news: Intel issued an announcement that it would extend the warranty of the 13th and 14th generation Core processors by two years, providing a total of five years of time to cope with, and solve the problem of unstable operation of the 13th and 14th generation Core processors.
However, at that time, Intel only talked in general terms and did not provide more relevant details. For example, the notice refers to “boxed” processors, and does not mention bulk processors and users of the entire machine, are these two types of users also applicable?
Note: The so-called “machine users” refers to those who did not buy the processor separately, but directly purchased the machine equipped with Intel’s 13th and 14th generation Core processors.
In addition, there is another issue of great concern, often readers ask the editor Core i5-13600K and Core i5-14600K whether there is also the problem of unstable operation?

Objectively speaking, before I learned of fewer relevant cases, mainly focused on Core i7-13700K and Core i7-14700K above the level of the model, so before I can not give a more objective and authoritative answer.
On August 5 Intel published a supplemental note about the extended two-year warranty (above), which clearly announced all the 13th and 14th generation Core processor models that are applicable to the extended two-year warranty (below), so there is finally an official and reliable answer to this question.
For the first question, the answer is yes, both bulk processors and whole machine users are applicable and covered by the extended two-year warranty. However, relative to the boxed processor, these two types of user rights steps and processes are different, to be more complex and cumbersome.
If you are a 13th or 14th generation Core boxed processor user, you can contact Intel’s after-sales department directly; if you are a bulk processor user, you need to contact the seller who provided you with the processor; and if you are a whole machine user, you need to contact the machine manufacturer.

Regarding whether the Core i5-13600K and Core i5-14600K also suffer from unstable operation, unfortunately, the answer to this question is also yes, and the relevant models are also covered by the extended two-year warranty. Specifically, this includes the Core i5-13600K, Core i5-13600KF, Core i5-14600K and Core i5-14600KF.
In a nutshell, the entire 13th and 14th generation Core processor series, from the low-end Core i5-13600K and Core i5-14600K to the high-end Core i9-13900KS and Core i9-14900KS, are applicable, in other words, all of them may have the problem of unstable operation.
It should be emphasized that the two-year warranty extension offered by Intel applies to all 13th- and 14th-generation Core processor customers worldwide, and does not vary by region.
In addition, some customers who have encountered unstable operation of the 13th and 14th generations of Core processors may have gone to Intel’s after-sales department to request a replacement, but were rejected for various reasons.

Intel reminds such users, please continue to contact Intel’s after-sales department, the after-sales department will conduct further investigation and verification, and will be in accordance with the latest extended warranty two-year terms of service, to provide users with further assistance and remedies. That is to say, the previous request for replacement was rejected, but in line with the new two-year extended warranty terms of service users will be able to obtain a replacement.
The Intel side concluded by saying, “Thank you for your patience, and we will continue to keep sharing updates related to the latest progress in resolving the issue of unstable operation of Intel Core 13th and 14th generation desktop processors.” The attitude on Intel’s part is still worth recognizing.
In addition to extending the warranty service for two years, Intel has also promised to release a microcode update for 13th and 14th generation desktop processors in mid-August, but it was not mentioned in this latest update, and I will be sharing more related news and breaking news at the first time, so stay tuned.
