The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card is confirmed to be officially launched on February 20. This news is almost certain. The official suggested retail price is $749, and it is expected that, after its release, it will still be hard to find, with the actual market price being difficult to predict.
Since the release date and suggested retail price have been confirmed, the next most important aspect to focus on is the actual performance of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti. This is the key point, and it is the topic of this article. Recently, the OpenCL benchmark results of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti have been revealed.
Before officially sharing the benchmark scores, let’s briefly introduce the specifications of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti:
The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti was released on January 6, 2025. It features the GB203 GPU chip, manufactured using TSMC’s 5nm process, with 8960 CUDA cores, 280 texture units, 70 multiprocessor stream processors, 280 tensor cores, and 70 ray tracing units.
It has an L2 cache of 64MB, a base clock of 2300MHz, and a boost clock of 2452MHz. It is equipped with 16GB of GDDR7 memory, a 256-bit memory interface, a memory speed of 28Gbps, a memory bandwidth of 896GB/s, and an FP32 floating point performance of 43.94 T FLOPS. The power consumption is 300W, and the reference price is $749.
Now, let’s get to the benchmark scores. In the Geekbench OpenCL project test, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti scored 7,521 points. For comparison, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER scored 6,986 points, and the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti scored 6,186 points.
Based on these scores, the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti’s performance is 7.6% higher than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and 20% higher than the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti.
It is important to emphasize that OpenCL benchmark scores do not fully or objectively represent the total performance of a graphics card; they can only serve as a rough reference for one aspect of performance.
Overall, compared to the previous generation, the performance improvement of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is moderate, with not a significant jump. However, calling it “just squeezing out a little more” might be too harsh. A more objective conclusion can only be drawn once the card is officially released and third-party authoritative reviews are available.
