Currently, both NVIDIA and AMD have released their new generation of mid-range graphics cards, namely the RTX 5070 series and the RX 9070 series. However, both series are priced above $500, which is not very budget-friendly. As a result, many users have been eagerly awaiting the new generation of “sweet spot” graphics cards from both manufacturers—the RTX 5060 series and the RX 9060 series.
The currently known specifications for the RTX 5060 series graphics cards are as follows:
The GeForce RTX 5060 Ti uses the GB206-300 GPU chip, based on the Blackwell 2.0 architecture. It has 4,608 CUDA cores, 144 texture units, 48 raster units, 36 streaming multiprocessors, 144 tensor cores, 36 ray tracing units, and 32MB of L2 cache.
It features a 128-bit memory interface and comes in two versions with 8GB and 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM. The memory speed is 28Gbps, delivering a bandwidth of 448GB/s (56% higher than the previous generation). Power consumption is rated at 180W. The 8GB version is expected to be priced at $399, while the 16GB version will cost $499.
The GeForce RTX 5060 uses the GB206-250 GPU chip, also based on the Blackwell 2.0 architecture. It has 3,840 CUDA cores, 120 texture units, 48 raster units, 30 streaming multiprocessors, 120 tensor cores, 30 ray tracing units, and 32MB of L2 cache. It also features a 128-bit memory interface, 8GB of GDDR7 VRAM running at 28Gbps, with the same 448GB/s bandwidth. Power consumption is 150W.
Currently, very little is known about the AMD RX 9060 series. It is confirmed that there will be two VRAM versions—8GB and 16GB—but no further details are available at this time.
However, the main focus of this article is not the specifications or performance of these graphics card series, but rather the latest developments and release timelines. Recently, a product registration document submitted by Gigabyte to South Korean regulatory authorities was leaked, clearly listing several upcoming graphics card model names.
Some of the disclosed model names include: GV-N506TEAGLE 0C-16GD, GV-N506TEAGLE0CICE-16GD, GV-N506TWF20C-16GD, GV-N506TWF2-16GD, GV-N506TGAMING0C-16GD, GV-N506TAER0 0C-16GD, and GV-N506TA0RUS E-16GD.
It’s clear that these model names refer to the RTX 5060 Ti series, but notably, all of them indicate the 16GB VRAM version, with no mention of the 8GB version.
On the other hand, the same document explicitly mentions two model names: GV-R9060XTGAMING OC-8GD and GV-R9060XTGAMING OC-16GD. These clearly correspond to the RX 9060 XT series, confirming the existence of both 8GB and 16GB VRAM variants.
Overall, this leak of Gigabyte’s registration document is a positive sign, as it indirectly confirms that the official launch of the RTX 5060 and RX 9060 series is not far off.
As for the release timeline of the RTX 5060 series, the latest rumor is that the RTX 5060 Ti series will be launched on April 16, while the RTX 5060 will arrive in May. There are no reliable rumors yet regarding the release date of the RX 9060 series. More updates and leaks will be shared as soon as possible, so stay tuned.
