On June 24, 2025, NVIDIA officially released the long-rumored GeForce RTX 5050 desktop edition.
Prior to this, there were numerous conflicting rumors. Some claimed its performance was extremely poor, significantly downgraded compared to the GeForce RTX 4060, while others said that thanks to the new architecture and process, its performance could be nearly on par with the previous generation’s GeForce RTX 4060—raising high expectations.
Now, a direct gaming performance comparison between the GeForce RTX 5050 and the GeForce RTX 4060 has arrived—it’s time to see the real results.

Specs Comparison
The GeForce RTX 5050 was released on June 24, 2025. It uses the GB207 GPU, based on the Blackwell architecture, built on TSMC’s 4nm process. It features 2,560 CUDA cores, 80 texture units, 32 ROPs, 20 SMs, 80 tensor cores, 20 RT cores, and 32MB of L2 cache.
It has a base clock of 2235 MHz and a boost clock of 2520 MHz, equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM at 20 Gbps. The memory interface is 128-bit, with a bandwidth of 320 GB/s. FP32 performance is 12.90 TFLOPS, power consumption is 130W, and the suggested retail price is $249.
The GeForce RTX 4060 was released on June 29, 2023. It uses the AD107 GPU, based on the Ada Lovelace architecture, built on TSMC’s 5nm process. It features 3,072 CUDA cores, 96 texture units, 32 ROPs, 24 SMs, 96 tensor cores, 24 RT cores, and 24MB of L2 cache.
It has a base clock of 1830 MHz and a boost clock of 2460 MHz, equipped with 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM at 17 Gbps. The memory interface is 128-bit, with a bandwidth of 272.0 GB/s. FP32 performance is 15.11 TFLOPS, power consumption is 115W, and the suggested retail price is $299.

Seven games were tested, all at 1080p resolution. In the comparison images, the left side represents the RTX 5050 platform, and the right side represents the RTX 4060 platform.
Game 1: Ghostwire: Tokyo

- RTX 4060: Avg FPS 74, Min FPS 63, Frame Time 13.5ms, CPU 58%, GPU 97%, GPU Power 118W, Temp 62°C
RTX 4060 leads by 13 FPS on average and 10 FPS minimum, with slightly better frame times.
Game 2: Cyberpunk 2077

Performance is essentially equal; 5050 has 1 FPS higher average, but 4060 has 2 FPS higher minimum.

Conclusion
Overall, the GeForce RTX 5050 delivers impressive performance, with only a small performance gap compared to the GeForce RTX 4060. When paired with an appropriate CPU and system, the RTX 5050 can nearly match the RTX 4060 in performance.
