Cyberpunk 2077” has updated to patch version 2.11, which notably includes an option for “Hybrid CPU Utilization,” making it the first game to allow control over Intel’s big.LITTLE architecture.

With the new patch, a new option appears in the game settings of “Cyberpunk 2077,” set to “Auto” by default, where the operating system automatically controls the allocation and utilization of Intel’s big and small cores.

There is also an option to “Prioritize P-Cores,” where the game will preferentially use performance cores.

The purpose of this option is naturally to bypass the Intel thread scheduler and Windows scheduler, to avoid the issue of E-cores (efficiency cores) running the game and causing reduced performance.

However, the current results are not very good. Media using an i9-13900K and RTX 4080 SUPER, at 1080p resolution, medium quality, and with ray tracing on, compared the performance and found that enabling the P-core prioritization feature significantly increased frame latency and made the stuttering even worse.

This is not an isolated case, as many users on Reddit have reported encountering the same issue.

It seems that CD Projekt Red still has some polishing to do.

Incidentally, the new patch also continues to optimize GPU performance, especially on the AMD Vega series.
