Recently, foreign media leaked the appearance and detailed specifications of Apple’s upcoming new device—the iPhone 17 Air (tentative name), attracting widespread attention. It is reported that this phone will be officially unveiled in September 2025.
From the leaked images, the iPhone 17 Air features a 6.6-inch OLED display. The screen also supports 120Hz ProMotion adaptive refresh rate technology, which automatically adjusts the refresh rate according to different usage scenarios, providing a smoother visual experience. Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air is equipped with an always-on display feature, allowing users to view the time and notifications without waking the screen.
In terms of design, the iPhone 17 Air may continue Apple’s notch design and come with Face ID facial recognition. Reportedly, the phone is only 5.5mm thick, which is undoubtedly a major selling point. Furthermore, although the phone lacks a SIM card tray, it is expected to support eSIM technology.
In other aspects, the iPhone 17 Air will be powered by Apple’s latest A19 chip and come with 8GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance and strong multitasking capabilities. It will also support Apple Intelligence, allowing users to enjoy a smarter experience. As for the cameras, the iPhone 17 Air will feature a 24MP front camera and a single 48MP rear sensor.
It is worth noting that foreign media speculate the iPhone 17 Air will not support millimeter-wave 5G technology. Additionally, the phone’s battery capacity is relatively small, raising concerns about potential battery life issues.
