Recently, Apple issued a warning on the “Important Safety Information for iPhone” support page, reminding users not to charge their iPhones under pillows or blankets.
The warning states, “Do not sleep on devices, power adapters, or wireless chargers that are connected to power, or place them under blankets, pillows, or your body.”
Apple advises that during use or charging, the iPhone, power adapters, and any wireless chargers should be placed in a well-ventilated area. If your body has conditions that affect the ability to sense heat, be especially careful.
It is noted that the Android camp has already entered the era of 100-watt fast charging. In the morning, by the time you finish washing up and eating breakfast, the phone battery can generally be fully charged, eliminating the need to charge at night.
In contrast, even with the latest iPhone 15 series, the peak charging power is only about 27W, hence most users choose to charge their phones while sleeping.
It is worth mentioning that Apple also reminds users to avoid prolonged skin contact with the charging cable and connector when they are connected to power, as this may cause discomfort or injury. Avoid sleeping or sitting on the charging cable or connector.
Additionally, using damaged cables or chargers, or charging in a damp environment, can lead to fires, electric shocks, injuries, or damage to the iPhone or other property.
