Preface

The GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER is a mid-range graphics card released by NVIDIA in 2019. It delivers strong performance and, even today, is capable of smoothly running most mainstream games at 1080P resolution.

This article compares the gaming performance of the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti to evaluate how much performance improvement can be gained by upgrading from the former to the latter, for the reference of interested users.

Specifications Comparison

The GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER was released on July 9, 2019. It uses the TU104 GPU based on the Turing architecture, manufactured using TSMC’s 12nm process. It has 2560 CUDA cores, 160 texture units, 64 raster units, 40 ray tracing units, 40 SMs, 320 tensor cores, and 4MB of L2 cache.

The GeForce RTX 5070 Ti was released on January 6, 2025. It uses the GB203 GPU, built with TSMC’s 5nm process. It features 8960 CUDA cores, 280 texture units, 70 SMs, 280 tensor cores, and 70 ray tracing units.

It has 64MB of L2 cache, a base clock of 2300MHz, and a boost clock of 2452MHz. It is equipped with 16GB of GDDR7 memory, a 256-bit memory bus, memory speed of 28Gbps, memory bandwidth of 896GB/s, FP32 performance of 43.94 TFLOPS, a power consumption of 300W, and a reference price of $749.

Comparison Conclusion

Overall, the performance gap between the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is significant. For instance, the latter’s CPU usage is nearly double throughout, its power consumption is generally higher by several dozen watts, yet its temperature is a few degrees lower.

Excluding the third game, based on the data from the other six games, the overall performance of the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti is approximately 2.7 times that of the GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER. This is the final conclusion of the article, for reference only.
