Since NVIDIA first announced the “SFF-Ready” graphics card specification for small form factor cases in June last year, the specification has been dedicated to providing more convenient GPU options for players assembling small chassis systems. The specification primarily targets RTX 4070 and higher models, setting strict size requirements, including a maximum height of 151mm (including the power cable bend radius), a maximum length of 304mm, and a maximum thickness of 50mm or 2.5 slots, ensuring compatibility with small cases.
With the release of the RTX 50 series, NVIDIA has also updated the latest model list for the SFF-Ready specification. Notably, the RTX 5090 Founders Edition (reference model) is the only RTX 5090 card that meets the SFF specification, providing an excellent option for players seeking high performance in small cases.
However, for Chinese players, there might be some disappointment. Since the RTX 5090D will not have a reference version, only non-reference models are available, which could somewhat limit the flexibility of players when selecting GPUs for small cases.
Nevertheless, several models in the RTX 50 series still support the SFF specification, most of which belong to the RTX 5070 series. Players can check NVIDIA’s official website for more details on the supported SFF models to make a more suitable choice when assembling small form factor systems.
