Recently, the leading domestic solid-state battery developer Tailan New Energy announced that it will jointly host a major event with the well-known automobile manufacturer Changan Automobile on November 7 in Chongqing to unveil new solid-state lithium battery technology. This event aims to share the latest research achievements from both companies in the solid-state lithium battery field and to discuss prospects for future cooperation.
According to official sources, the upcoming solid-state lithium battery technology features significant differences in materials and structure compared to traditional liquid lithium batteries, enhancing battery safety. This technological advance not only marks a major breakthrough for Tailan New Energy in solid-state battery R&D but also signals the increasing role of solid-state battery technology in the future of new energy vehicles.
Since 2011, Tailan New Energy has focused on developing core technologies for solid-state batteries. As the first company in China to achieve mass production of semi-solid-state batteries, Tailan New Energy has already delivered products to several niche markets. The core R&D team, with deep technical expertise and an innovative spirit, has independently developed several key technologies, including “high-conductive lithium-oxygen composite materials,” “in-situ submicron industrial membrane-forming (ISFD) technology,” and “interface softening technology.” These technologies have been recognized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), making Tailan New Energy the only domestic company with solid-state battery technology listed by WIPO, highlighting its leadership in this field.
In August this year, Changan Automobile officially acquired a stake in Tailan New Energy, establishing a close cooperative relationship. Through this joint technology release event with Changan Automobile, Tailan New Energy will present brand-new solid-state lithium battery technology and explore the potential for product application with Changan. This collaboration not only promotes the commercialization of solid-state battery technology but also injects fresh momentum into the development of the new energy vehicle industry.
As a well-known domestic automobile manufacturer, Changan Automobile has long been dedicated to the R&D and innovation of new energy vehicle technology. The partnership with Tailan New Energy represents an important strategic move in Changan’s new energy vehicle deployment. With their combined efforts, they aim to launch more new energy vehicle products with solid-state lithium batteries in the future, providing consumers with safer, more efficient, and more environmentally friendly travel options.
