June 4 news: Tech media outlet Windows Central published a blog post today, stating that while installing the Windows 11 24H2 image, they discovered that Microsoft has blocked the method of bypassing the Microsoft account requirement by using email to create a local account directly.
Since Microsoft released the Windows 11 system in 2021, the installation process has required users to connect to the internet and login with a Microsoft account. Both are mandatory for normal access to the desktop.
However, users have found many workarounds to bypass Microsoft’s restrictions. The first discovered method was to kill a certain application process in the Task Manager during the internet connection screen, allowing the creation of a local account directly. Microsoft quickly patched this loophole, making this method ineffective.
Subsequently, users found that by specifying an email account and a random password, they could bypass the Microsoft account login process and create a local account directly.
This method was previously effective, with commonly used email addresses including “[email protected]“, “[email protected]“, and “[email protected]“, among others.
According to IT Home, citing this media report, Microsoft has blocked this workaround in the Windows 11 24H2 image. After entering the above email addresses, users are redirected to the account link page and cannot access the local account page directly, meaning users must enter a Microsoft account and password.
However, users can still call the command prompt during the installation process and enter the “OOBE\BYPASSNRO” command to skip directly to creating a local account.
